The Kyiv Independent is Ukraine’s leading English-language news outlet, founded in November 2021 by a team of journalists committed to editorial independence. With a team of around 65 people, mostly based in Kyiv, they serve as Ukraine’s voice in the world and the world’s window into Ukraine.

Обов'язки

• managing accounting and paperwork across two legal entities (registered in Ukraine and the UK)
• overseeing company documentation (both online and offline)
  • organizing and maintaining financial documents in the office according to legal and financial regulations
  • ensuring proper online file management for both legal entities
• handling donor financial reporting and budgeting (preparing project budgets for grant proposals, financial reports for grants)
• categorizing all payments in the corporate financial management system FinMap
• assisting permanent subcontractors in managing their FOP accounts in Ukraine (sending reminders, resolving tax issues if needed)
• working closely with financial and management staff

Вимоги

• proficiency in Excel
• experience with file management, financial reporting, and accounting software (e.g., Vchasno, FinMap or similar)
• strong command of English (upper intermediate or advanced)
• solid knowledge of Ukrainian financial regulations
• strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• ability to manage tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
• effective communication skills for working with team members and external stakeholders
• alignment with The Kyiv Independent’s values
• flexibility and eagerness to learn and grow professionally
