The Basel Institute on Governance is an international and independent not-for-profit organisation working globally with the public and private sectors to counter corruption, financial crimes, and improve governance quality. The Institute operates globally, with headquarters in Basel and field operations worldwide. In Ukraine, the Basel Institute is engaged in various programmes, including asset recovery, compliance strengthening, and collaboration with Ukrainian civil society. These efforts have intensified since the war of aggression in early 2022.
This role supports various anti-corruption programs in Ukraine, including strengthening Ukraine’s anti-corruption framework as the country progresses toward EU membership and post-war restoration. The Associate will engage in advisory, research, and stakeholder engagement duties, requiring an understanding of Ukrainian governance, anti-corruption legislation, and international standards in good governance.

Advisory Work
conduct legal and compliance risk gap analyses and corruption risk assessments under the supervision of the Senior Specialist
support the development of new anti-corruption plans and policies
prepare training materials for corruption prevention awareness
conduct research on corruption-related topics, including infrastructure and reconstruction
provide updates on Ukrainian legislation and relevant international practices
collect and organize information for regular reports to government, civil society, and donors
Stakeholder Engagement
participate in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops as requested
collaborate with various stakeholders at the Basel Institute due to the role’s multi-sectoral nature
Вимоги
university degree or equivalent in law or public administration
at least one year of experience in corruption prevention, risk management, or compliance
relevant experience as an anti-corruption compliance officer in a corporate/public entity or as a consultant on ethics and compliance in a top-ranked Ukrainian legal firm (advantageous)
proficient in MS Office
languages: fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian; good knowledge of written and spoken English
strong analytical and coordination skills
