review budgets for price reasonableness and conduct market research to verify pricing for subcontract proposals and grant applications, documenting the process accordingly
provide recommendations and/or lead financial negotiation for subcontracts and grants
liaise with grantees/subcontractors regarding financial documentation required to initiate activities
contribute to and/or draft memoranda of negotiation and other relevant documentation for the Awards Team
serve as a resource to grantees and subcontractors for questions regarding monthly financial reports, expenditures, cost share, allowability issues, etc.
review financial reports, compile payment request packages, and ensure timely payments to the sub-recipients and contractors
prepare and regularly update the activities tracker to forecast and track all planned and actual activities and funds disbursements
maintain Excel spreadsheets and/or other tool to systemically collect and track subcontractor and grantee expenses
monitor payments and expenses and coordinate with the technical team and Awards team to ensure that activities are being carried out on time
provide financial capacity building and training as needed by project partners
ensure that all files are maintained in conformance with the Chemonics filing system and are up-to-date and audit ready at all times
assist with other aspects of Awards management as time allows and as directed
comply with Chemonics’ standards of business conduct
perform other appropriate tasks as requested

energy, positivity, and a strong willingness to learn while making a positive impact
university degree, preferably in finance, accounting, business administration, international relations, social sciences, communications, or related field
2+ years of relevant working experience in financial management, accounting, and/or grants/subcontracts/procurement
professional experience with international donor programs, particularly USAID preferred
demonstrated ability to work productively within a team
excellent administrative, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
outstanding attention to detail and analytical skills
excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment
strong Microsoft Excel skills, and knowledge of Office applications
ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in Ukrainian, and English. Outstanding written and spoken English skills are desired
