The vacancy involves work in The Children’s Resilience Fund that is a Crown Agents International Development partnership with UBS Optimus Foundation established to meet the continued emerging needs of the people of Ukraine following the Russian invasion on the 24th February 2022.

Обов'язки

  • review of the project’s grant application forms, including the Child Protection operating eligibility criteria
  • review of CSO grant applications
  • providing input/review programme design throughout the project lifecycle
  • child protection capacity strengthening advice, if necessary
  • work closely with the project team to identify capacity gaps and needs in relation to child protection within each CSO project
  • ensuring that there is adequate support across all partners concerning child protection; strong policies on safeguarding, whistleblowing, child protection, conflict sensitivity and do no harm
  • developing and conducting inductions, workshops, training programs and other capacity-building activities on child rights and child protection for CSO’s, as needed
  • assisting in the development of capacities of personnel and partners to implement the CAAC agenda and reinforcing the monitoring and reporting of grave violations against children in armed conflict, as recommended in the UNICEF/OSRSG CAAC-led report on the Consolidated Recommendations from the Regional Consultations on Children and Armed Conflict
  • developing or enhancing understanding of Security Council Resolutions on Children in Armed Conflict and other relevant international legalities on child protection where needed
  • providing timely inputs and guidance on child protection issues as requested by the Project Manager
  • providing individual mission reports (approximately 500 words) on each CSO project within the month after completion of project
  • producing a mapping of capacity-building needs in CSO’s, and formulating corresponding recommendations to address these needs at the end of assignment
  • work closely with the MEL Lead to ensure high quality and informative data is collected on child protection measures throughout each project

Вимоги

  • advanced degree in social work, children’s development, psychology, public health, or a related field
  • formal training in counselling, self-care, self-compassion, and other relevant MHPSS disciplines preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in management or technical implementation of children’s protection or other youth-focused initiatives, preferably in a conflict setting
  • knowledge and understanding of the Ukraine context
  • exceptional skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • experience with international donor-funded projects
  • excellent presentation skills
  • well-developed written and oral communication skills in Ukrainian and English
  • ability to travel as necessary
