The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work today in more than 40 countries, IRC aims to restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to survive. IRC Ukraine is currently looking for a strategic and versatile leader to oversee and manage a complex multi-donor, multi-year Child Protection (CP) portfolio, comprised of case management, psychosocial support, and risk reduction activities delivered by IRC and partners.

Обов'язки

  • ensure the comprehensive strategic vision for the child protection program is maintained throughout emergency response efforts
  • guarantee the technical excellence of all IRC child protection initiatives, ensuring that children and adolescents facing various forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence have access to secure, high-quality, gender-sensitive, and age-appropriate protection services aligned with their needs and best interests
  • provide technical and management leadership to the child protection program in accordance with best practice and IRC policy
  • lead the formulation of a strategic vision and direction for the child protection program, facilitating a process that incorporates input from CP field teams, other IRC sectors, senior IRC management, and key external stakeholders
  • foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages learning and professional growth for child protection teams
  • ensure the implementation of ethical and robust data collection and information management systems for effective child protection analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy
  • actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government actors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, and other relevant entities

Вимоги

  • graduate degree desired in social work, social sciences, psychology, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • at least 3-years’ experience leading or managing child protection programming
  • proven record of technical expertise in programming in one or more of the following areas: child protection case management, mental health and psychosocial support, Social Emotional Learning, responsive parenting, alternative care and support to unaccompanied and separated children
  • previous experience supervising and managing a large team
  • previous experience in emergency response, insecurity and conflict settings
  • demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring of staff
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in new business development, grants management and donor liaison
  • familiarity with key donor regulations, i.e. BHA, BPRM, SIDA, UNICEF and ECHO
  • experience in participating in external working groups and forums
  • experience in working with and coordinating with the UN, donors, INGOs and other stakeholders
  • excellent computer skills in programs such as: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • capable of applying skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct implementation, advisory functions, training and the transfer of technical knowledge and management skills to others
  • good spoken and written English; Ukrainian and/or Russian desirable
