The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) is a grant-making organisation established by the European Union and its Member States to foster and encourage democratisation and deep and sustainable democracy. The EED functions as an independent private law foundation with its seat in Brussels.

Обов'язки

• support grant proposals assessments and processing
• carry out background checks
• maintain contact with the donor community and provide the EED updates on donor activities in Ukraine
• follow up on and support initiatives and activists that the EED is supporting in Ukraine
• provide logistical support for the EED Secretariat direct engagement with grantees from Ukraine
• identify and/or approach actors whose work could be considered relevant to the EED mandate
• prepare regular updates and reports on the general political, policy, security and civil society environment in Ukraine
• assist in the assessment of financial and narrative reports

Вимоги

• relevant academic background, preferably in the field of social sciences and humanities
• relevant professional experience, preferably in civil society or donor community
• experience in grant-making process will be an advantage
• knowledge of local and regional civil society and relevant contact network in Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and/or Vinnytsya will be an advantage
• thorough knowledge of Ukrainian language; English will be an asset
• excellent writing and communication skills
• ability to keep full confidentiality about all assigned tasks and related documentation as well as discretion and tact when dealing with diverse groups of people
• ability to network and develop strong working relationships internally and externally at all levels
• high personal and professional culture
• ability to work in a multicultural environment
• knowledge in organisational development will be an asset
• knowledge in gender mainstreaming will be an asset
• references regarding a candidate’s qualifications, prior experience and suitability for the performance of duties
