Chemonics International Inc., a global development consulting firm, is seeking a highly qualified Ukrainian professional for the part-time position of Engineer for the USAID Justice for All (J4A) Activity in Ukraine.

contribute to cost estimates, schedules, and technical scopes for proposed construction projects
review proposals and make technical recommendations for construction awards
verify that subcontractors obtain and maintain all required permits
ensure subcontractors adhere to established work plans, deliverables, and technical standards
conduct field visits to monitor construction projects across the program’s regional areas
prepare meeting notes and field inspection reports
ensure completion of compliance documentation, including environmental monitoring and mitigation plans
assist in market research for construction materials and services price reasonability
research and maintain awareness of relevant local legal codes, including environmental, labor, and zoning laws
coordinate with the J4A team to ensure that infrastructure and rehabilitation activities conform to engineering standards
participate in meetings with grantees and partners as needed
engage in other related engineering and construction management activities as assigned
Вимоги
bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (advanced degree preferred)
minimum of 10 years of experience in construction monitoring and management, with progressively increased responsibilities
technical attestation certificate in civil and industrial construction (per Ukrainian law)
previous experience with an international donor-funded organization is preferred
strong knowledge of local and legal norms in construction
significant market knowledge within Ukraine
excellent communication skills in Ukrainian; knowledge of English is an asset
strong interpersonal, time-management, and conflict-management skills
high level of self-organization, autonomy, and responsibility with the ability to work independently
