OpenDoorUkraine.NL (ODU) is a non-profit strengthening ties between the Netherlands and Ukraine through support for business, humanitarian work, civil society, and culture.
Key programmes: Build Back Bio – building 450 bio-based homes in Ukraine (funded by €4M from the Netherlands Government); VMHCE – mental health services for veterans in Kyiv; I Am Kherson – providing rehab equipment to people with limited mobility.
The Director leads strategy, operations, and external relations, reporting to the Board Chair and managing a Kyiv-based team of 10, including a Programme Coordinator and Finance Manager.

overall management of the Foundation and its staff
supervision of the Kyiv-based team (Programme Coordinator and Finance Manager)
alignment of the Foundation’s operations with its mission and strategic priorities
implementation of all programmes within scope, time, and budget
leadership in designing and assuring quality of new programmes
oversight of monitoring and evaluation systems
review of programme and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
development and oversight of key organisational documents (Annual Plan, Multi-Annual Strategic Plan, Annual Report)
ensuring alignment of programmes with strategic objectives and donor requirements
financial sustainability and integrity through budgeting and expenditure control
oversight of financial reporting and audits in compliance with Dutch ANBI/CBF standards
approval of major expenditures, contracts, and service provider agreements
legal and regulatory compliance in both the Netherlands and Ukraine
development of a fundraising strategy targeting governments, multilateral donors, foundations, and the EU
preparation or supervision of grant proposals and funding application
maintenance and cultivation of donor relationships
compliance with reporting requirements and funding agreements
representation of the Foundation to diplomatic partners, donors, and stakeholders
participation in high-level meetings, media engagements, and public forums alongside the Chairman
building of strategic alliances with institutions in Ukraine, Dutch ministries, EU policymakers, and peer organisations

place of residence — co-located between Kyiv and the Netherlands
senior management experience in non-profit, international development, or diplomacy of 7–10 years
ability to design, implement, and monitor multi-sector programmes with a track record of timely, budget-compliant delivery
experience in maintaining relationships with donors, governments, EU institutions, and diplomatic missions
proven fundraising skills and experience with bilateral, multilateral, and philanthropic donors
understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and compliance
experience in strategic planning, producing annual/multi-annual plans and narrative/financial reports
knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks for NGOs in Ukraine and preferably in the Netherlands
team management experience with a focus on motivation and professional development
strong communication skills in Ukrainian and English
commitment to Ukraine’s democratic development and sovereignty, aligned with ODU’s mission
Dutch proficiency will be an advantage
knowledge of ANBI/CBF and international standards will be an advantage
