A fast-growing European deep-tech startup developing advanced autonomy and perception solutions for next-generation UAV systems. The company is looking for a Forward Deployed Drone/Robotics Engineer to bring autonomy software from the lab to the field.
In this role, you will integrate and deploy autonomy algorithms across a wide range of UAV platforms — from agile FPV drones to large fixed-wing aircraft. Acting as the crucial link between autonomy software and the drone systems, you’ll work hands-on to ensure seamless integration and reliable performance in real-world environments.
You’ll collaborate with an international team of engineers and researchers across Europe, as well as local partners in Ukraine. Expect a dynamic mix of field-testing, system integration, and close teamwork with both hardware and software specialists.

deployment of autonomy solutions across diverse UAV platforms as a core engineering team member
development of robust interfaces between autonomy algorithms and drone flight controllers
integration and testing of full-stack autonomy solutions on partner platforms in close cooperation with engineering teams
provision of structured feedback to the autonomy team based on field test and operational flight results
on-site support at partner locations to ensure reliable deployment in demanding real-world conditions (primarily in Ukraine)

extensive experience with Python and C++
hands-on experience with drone flight controllers such as Ardupilot, PX4 or Betaflight
deep understanding of Docker, including CUDA support and deployment integration
familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson architecture and deployment workflows
confident working in a fully terminal-based Linux environment, including shell scripting, system debugging, and command-line tools
strong understanding of UAV hardware, battery management, and electronics; ideally, experience building and debugging your own drones
ability to learn new concepts independently and adapt quickly
high degree of autonomy, resilience, and a problem-solving mindset
willingness to travel frequently and for extended durations (up to 3 weeks)
full-time availability (40 hours per week)
valid driver’s license
