The client, an international technology startup specializing in cutting-edge defense solutions for airspace security and protection, is seeking an experienced Customs & International Logistics Specialist. This role will oversee and optimize import logistics, customs brokerage, and cross-border compliance between manufacturing and distribution sites. The specialist will ensure efficient and compliant movement of finished goods, components, and materials across international borders.

Обов'язки

Customs compliance & brokerage

• oversee customs clearance activities in multiple jurisdictions (primarily Ukraine and EU)
• manage relationships with customs brokers and ensure timely and accurate documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, etc.)
• ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations
• monitor changes in customs regulations and trade policies in key markets

Logistics operations

• manage end-to-end international shipment planning and execution for raw materials, components, and finished goods
• optimize routing and shipping modes to balance cost, speed, and reliability
• coordinate with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and carriers
• lead customs aspects of new market entry and product launches

Cross-functional coordination

• collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and legal teams
• ensure accurate inventory flow between countries, especially for components under special licensing
• act as subject-matter expert on customs issues for internal stakeholders

Documentation & systems

• implement and manage logistics tracking tools or ERP integrations for import processes
• maintain detailed records of all international shipments and customs interactions
• ensure accurate documentation for regulatory compliance and audits

Risk management & cost optimization

• identify and mitigate risks related to delays, fines, or compliance failures
• evaluate and negotiate logistics contracts to optimize costs and maintain service quality
• manage customs audits and investigations by authorities

Вимоги

• bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, international business, logistics or related field
• experience in customs brokerage, international logistics, or freight forwarding of 5 years or more
• strong knowledge of Incoterms, HS classification, customs duties, and trade agreements
• experience with dual-use or high-tech products is a plus (e.g., drones, aerospace, electronics)
• excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• ability to analyze complex trade scenarios and develop effective solutions
• English on level not lower upper intermediate
• professional experience of 3 years or more
• customs brokerage of 5 years or more
