The Serpens Center for International Security (SCIS) is an independent Ukrainian think tank focused on defense and security. Its mission is to strengthen the approaches of Ukraine and its allies to understanding, building, and maintaining their own defense, as well as to facilitate the formation of new security alliances required by the 21st century. Operating throughout Ukraine, SCIS conducts research, implements programs, and builds partnerships that transform Ukraine’s hard-won defense experience into shared and sustainable Western security.

Обов'язки

• manage the organization's daily communications materials, including the newsletter, website, social media, and the full publication process from final draft to publication
• adapt complex analytical materials into summaries, social media content, briefing notes, and article proposals without losing the core message
• establish and maintain relationships with journalists covering defense and security topics in Ukraine and internationally
• coordinate communications around events, including announcements, participant communication, supporting materials, and post-event coverage
• maintain a consistent institutional voice and visual identity across all communications in Ukrainian and English
• track and analyze communication performance, including reach, engagement, and audience interaction

Вимоги

• practical experience in communications, editing, or media, preferably in politics, defense, international relations, journalism, or a related field
• excellent writing and editing skills in both Ukrainian and English
• strong editorial judgment with the ability to identify key insights in analytical materials
• existing media contacts or the ability to build media relationships from scratch
• discretion when working with sensitive information
• ability to work independently and take initiative
• experience communicating technical or military topics to non-specialist audiences will be an advantage
• experience working with Western media or international institutions will be an advantage
• design and visual presentation skills, or experience coordinating these processes, will be an advantage
• military service experience or veteran status will be an advantage
