The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen democracy worldwide. NDI programs in Ukraine are supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden, Canada, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the United Kingdom Good Governance Fund. The vacancy involves work in the Women Lead Program.

Обов'язки

  • contribute to the implementation of NDI’s programs in Ukraine
  • provide technical guidance to NDI CSO partners and coordinate their narrative and financial reporting
  • coordinate M&E data collection and analysis
  • take an active role in program design and development of strategic and operational planning
  • coordinate with implementing partners, vendors, and stakeholders for effective program implementation
  • support partners in the design and implementation of joint initiatives around gender equality overall and gender responsive governance in particular
  • facilitate and conduct training sessions, meetings, workshops, and events to develop the capacities of program partners and promote women’s rights
  • contribute to the weekly, quarterly and annual reports
  • provide back-up for the day-to-day operations of the program, responding to routine program inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate internal communication
  • follow political developments, primarily in the domain of gender equality, and contribute to the preparation of political updates/analysis
  • undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Вимоги

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Rights, Development, Political Science, or a related subject. Graduate degree desired
  • 4+ years of experience working in democracy support and human rights, especially gender equality, programming with a thorough understanding of political processes in Ukraine
  • fluency in Ukrainian and English
  • substantial understanding of the human rights context in Ukraine
  • experience with narrative and financial reporting development for international/national non-profit organizations and projects
  • experience working for international non-governmental organizations is desired
  • experience in the development, collection, and analysis of M&E data
  • experience of cooperation with civil society organizations
  • experience in subawards management, including demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance to CSO partners in narrative and financial reporting is desired
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with civic society and local government partners
  • ability to take a proactive approach to problem-solving and coordinate diplomatically with a wide group of people
  • working knowledge of Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, etc.)
