The Basel Institute on Governance is an independent, international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to combating corruption, financial crime, and improving governance worldwide. Based in Basel, Switzerland, the Institute operates globally and maintains field operations across various countries. In Ukraine, the Basel Institute is actively involved in initiatives such as asset recovery, enhancing compliance for private, public, and state-owned entities, and partnering with Ukrainian civil society. These activities have expanded significantly since the 2022 war of aggression.
The Programme Officer will be a key operational contact in Ukraine, supporting programme implementation, liaising with the headquarters team, and ensuring the success of various initiatives under the guidance of the Senior Advisor for Central and Eastern Europe and the Programme Manager.

Programmatic Support
assisting in all aspects of programme operations and providing field support to programme management
drafting and contributing to reports, updates, work plans, and briefing materials
maintaining communication with programme partners and gathering input for updates
compiling and organizing briefing materials for staff and consultants
supporting knowledge management by organizing programme documents and sharing lessons learned
facilitating monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, including data collection and reporting
coordinating between technical and communications teams to monitor legal changes, liaise with partners, and share updates
Administrative, Logistical, and Financial Support
formatting and editing documents, taking meeting notes, and processing expense reports
organizing training programmes, events, and logistics such as travel, accommodation, and technical support
preparing meeting agendas, presentations, and related materials
maintaining and systematizing contact databases (e.g., event participants, trainers)
registering Basel Institute projects with Ukrainian authorities
collaborating with the Administrative and Finance teams for project-related tasks
translating documents and providing interpretation during meetings and events
Research Support
conducting technical research and validating, analyzing, and interpreting data
summarizing research results and contributing to data visualization and dissemination
Вимоги
bachelor’s degree in business, law, political or social sciences, international relations, management, public policy, or a related field
minimum 3 years of experience in programme or project management, preferably in an international context
experience with donor-funded programmes or international donors (highly desirable)
familiarity with governance, anti-corruption, compliance, or infrastructure sectors (an advantage)
strong research and analytical skills
proficiency in English (excellent) and Ukrainian (native, written and oral)
ability to work independently and remotely with initiative
physical presence in Kyiv, with occasional travel outside the city
advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and presentation tools
adaptability to dynamic and fast-changing environments
