The NATO Representation to Ukraine (NRU) facilitates political and military dialogue and co-operation between the Alliance and Ukraine, as well as coordinating NATO’s practical support to Ukraine.
The NRU is a principal stakeholder in coordinating NATO’s Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP), which provides a consolidated platform for NATO’s practical support to Ukraine. The CAP enables Ukraine to become more resilient, to better provide for its own security, and to carry out essential reforms, in particular in the security and defence sector.
The Protocol and Events Officer manages the organisational, protocol, and logistic aspects of NRU engagements and NATO HQ visits to Ukraine, as well as in-country missions of NRU International Staff. S/he coordinates the organisation of NRU events such as leadership meetings, conferences, and hospitalities.

plan, organise, and coordinate logistical, organisational, and protocol aspects of NRU engagements, visits, events, and other meetings
prepare venues, oversee hospitality functions, and provide on-site support as required
draft correspondence, programmes, and hospitality requests for NRU events, visits, receptions, and other activities
make travel arrangements for NRU management: prepare travel authorisations and liquidations, book transport and accommodation, fulfil any other task related to travel administration
act as point of contact for requests of a protocol nature
coordinate with stakeholders in NATO HQ, including International Staff and International Military Staff (IMS), as well as with local counterparts and others as appropriate
maintain a database of internal and external contacts and counterparts
proactively develop skills in areas such as planning and organising, new technology, and effective communication
support or stand in for other members of the Front Office as necessary
support local staff recruitment
perform other duties as required

Essential:
university degree in international relations, public administration or other relevant field
a minimum of 5 years’ directly relevant work experience in administrative support duties, application of protocol rules and procedures, high level events coordination and management
a good knowledge of diplomatic protocol rules and procedures
strong attention to detail
excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
be prepared to travel and demonstrate flexibility to work outside normal office hours, when required
be conversant with various software packages, in particular the Microsoft Office suite
experience within multidisciplinary and multi-cultural environments dealing with a variety of stakeholders
languages: English Level 5 (Advanced); Ukrainian Level 6 (Proficient), including excellent drafting skills
no criminal record and pass security vetting
Desirable:
experience working in an international environment
knowledge of NATO procedures and practices
experience working in an international political organisation, a national administration or a military environment
experience with an international organisation, embassy, or similar organisation
experience working in a military environment
