Research and Analysis Team Lead

Alinea International has been contracted by the UK Government to establish a strategic communications support platform. This platform will support Ukraine's government communications activities and priorities by assembling top talent in a format designed to meet the increased public demand for transparent communication caused by Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The expert will ensure all activities are delivered on time and are appropriately documented. S/he is expected to work closely with the team in Ukraine and participate in relevant project meetings.

• leadership of Research and Analysis efforts to support the Government of Ukraine's strategic communications
• contribution to overall project team leadership, close coordination with team leads to support project outcomes
• participation in project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), including:
  • assisting in tracking and reviewing project outputs/outcomes
  • identifying research and analysis lessons and ensuring their integration into learning processes
  • participating in MEL meetings, learning sprints, and reviews
  • ensuring team engagement and understanding of MEL processes
• management of the Research and Analysis team (approximately 10 people)
• direct supervision of the Senior Researcher (to be recruited), Chief Analyst (overseeing the Audience Analysis Team), and ASO Coordinator (overseeing the Media Monitoring Team)
• oversight of team workflow, ensuring regular planning, monitoring, and delivery of tasks
• leadership and development support for Research and Analysis team members
• direction of research interventions, applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods
• coordination of research and analysis requirements across the project's three outcomes in collaboration with stakeholders, the client, and project teams
• selection and coordination of research providers and in-house research activities as needed
• approval of research intervention designs following consultation with internal and external stakeholders
• ultimate quality assurance and quality control of research tools and reports, including questionnaires, guides, reports, presentations, charts, and other outputs
• account management of research providers, including:
  • overseeing selection, tasking, and quality assurance of deliverables
  • reviewing and approving terms of reference (ToR) for internal and external research providers
  • ensuring clear communication and feedback loops with providers
  • assigning tasks based on ToR and contract scope
  • confirming acceptance of research services and approving payments
• development and maintenance of networks with key stakeholders within the Government of Ukraine, British Embassy, and other relevant actors to identify opportunities for Research and Analysis
• collection of ongoing research and analysis needs and feedback from Government of Ukraine stakeholders and clients
• design and implementation of standard operating procedures for research design and data sharing among key stakeholders
• delivery of research reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
• contribution to project reporting, including:
  • providing inputs for weekly, quarterly, and other required reports as guided by the MEL team

Вимоги

Team Management

• at least 10 years of experience in research and analysis, with a minimum of 5 years leading teams
• proven ability to lead teams, with experience in mentoring, tasking, goal setting, and providing feedback

Research and Analysis

• strong analytical skills with experience handling multiple data sources and types
• demonstrated expertise in research design using mixed methodologies, including surveys, focus groups, expert interviews, social media listening, and media monitoring
• proficiency in research analysis software such as SPSS, R, and Stata; experience with AI-driven research methodologies is an advantage
• proven ability to translate data into actionable recommendations; experience providing research-driven insights for strategic communications campaigns is an advantage
• solid understanding of applied behavioral sciences, with experience in research and analysis for behavior change campaigns as an advantage
• experience with audience segmentation and target group analysis in communications contexts is an advantage
