Senior Communications Lead  for the USAID/ RADA next generation activity

RADA Next Generation (RANG) is a five-year USAID-funded initiative (2021-2026) aiming to advance the "next generation" of reforms that will enable the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) to become a modern, effective institution that promotes accountability and democratic development in Ukraine. The RANG project is seeking a Senior Communications Lead to guide project communications during the challenges posed by the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022 and opportunities that arise when the security situation allows.

The Senior Communications Lead will work with a dedicated team of communications professionals to share the RANG project's successes with Ukrainians and an international audience that includes donors, diplomatic missions, civil society, and lawmakers and staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Обов'язки

• leadership and coordination of the daily work of the Communications Team
• advising RANG senior management on public information strategies, branding and marking requirements in accordance with USAID regulations, and other factors affecting successful communication of RANG activities and results
• liaising with Communications specialists at the USAID mission to ensure alignment of RANG strategies and products with USAID’s communications priorities
• close collaboration with managers of each RANG project pillar to develop public information campaigns that showcase the results and achievements of RANG’s work with Verkhovna Rada staff, officials, and Parliament members
• leadership of RANG’s social media strategy to maximize impact and audience engagement, with a focus on video content production for Facebook and other platforms
• coordination and supervision of the creation of the Program’s information products, including flash news, Public Weeklies, monthly digests, success stories, and annual achievements
• oversight of the development, production, and updates of content on the Program’s website
• supervision of story development for placement in local and international media
• collaboration with Leads of each RANG Objective to ensure the quality and consistency of documents, promotional materials, and success stories presented at public events
• liaising with RANG partners as needed, including undertaking joint duties or responsibilities
• writing and editing communications components of RANG implementation plans, semi-annual reports, and annual reports
• performing other duties as required

Вимоги

• proficiency in Ukrainian and English, with excellent writing skills in both languages
• BA (or equivalent) or higher degree in a relevant discipline; Master's degree preferred
• significant experience in a communications role on projects funded by international donors, preferably USAID-funded projects
• knowledge of Ukraine’s Parliament and the country’s reform agenda
• excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work professionally under tight deadlines
• demonstrated expertise in social media management, website content development, video production, and digital communications
• strong team player with the ability to lead, execute, and integrate feedback from multiple stakeholders
• ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously, balancing competing demands and deadlines while maintaining composure
• excellent communication and negotiation skills, including public speaking and media engagement
• advanced proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
