The National Democratic Institute (NDI) seeks a (Senior) Program Assistant (S/PA) or Program Officer (PO), based in Kyiv, Ukraine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical, programmatic, and administrative support to NDI’s work under the supervision of the Resident Senior Program Manager, and ultimately the Resident Country Director

Programmatic :
under the guidance, perform day-to-day tasks related to NDI’s research projects
contribute to the design of survey instruments and questionnaires
manage data scripts in various software environments for multiple research projects
contribute to the process of data analysis and visualization of NDI’s research projects
contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on the relevant research activities
undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Administrative :
perform general administrative duties such as data entry, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, preparing correspondence, and maintaining records
provide oral and written translation services for program activities and documentation as needed
coordinate logistics for conferences, training programs, meetings, workshops, and other events, including travel arrangements, accommodation, and meals
communicate with vendors, prepare necessary documents (agreements, invoices, etc.), and reconcile expenditures following organizational financial policies
assist in preparing and conducting the conferences, training programs sessions, and meetings by preparing necessary documents (security checklists, informed consent and risk, follow-up, and other forms)
assist with online and offline events (including but not limited to Zoom support, vendors and participants communication, necessary materials sharing, registering actions, and taking photos)
maintain records of documents with vendors and partners in coordination with the administrative team
assist in organizing and facilitating team meetings and events, including recording minutes/notes
coordinate mail deliveries of program-related documents and develop draft budget projections

bachelor’s degree or equivalent
at least 1 year for (Senior) Program Assistant and minimum 3 for Program Officer of experience in the research field working on public opinion research projects
demonstrated experience with best practices for conducting quantitative and qualitative research
experience with data analysis/statistical software such as SPSS, R or STATA
analytical skills for interpreting complex political environments, as well as identifying and responding to program opportunities
strong oral and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian are required
familiarity with Google platform, virtual meeting and webinar technology, and Microsoft Office applications is required
demonstrated experience working in a cross-cultural environment; an ability to work in a challenging environment is strongly preferred
experience designing and implementing evidence-based programming will be an advantage
experience in applying innovative research methods and experimental design
knowledge of social media monitoring, data analysis, and visualization techniques
