Employer is an international defense tech company seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Generalist) with broad expertise across multiple domains, including camera systems, radio communication, antenna tracking, sensor integration, and embedded software. This role involves the integration, optimization, and performance enhancement of various UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) systems. The ideal candidate will have a versatile background, capable of leading cross-functional teams to develop advanced technologies while managing the complexities of integrating diverse systems within a UAV platform.

Camera systems & imaging:

• selection, integration, and optimization of camera systems for UAVs
• development and maintenance of imaging pipelines to ensure high-quality, low-latency video streaming
• collaboration with hardware and software teams to enhance sensor performance, focusing on AI-driven image processing

Radio & antenna tracker systems:

• design and development of radio communication systems, including antenna tracking solutions for UAVs
• implementation of embedded software for robust telemetry and control links
• optimization of RF signal processing to ensure secure, interference-resistant data transmission

Sensor integration & data fusion:

• integration of diverse sensors such as IMU, LiDAR, GNSS, EO/IR into UAV platforms
• development of sensor fusion algorithms for accurate data synchronization
• contribution to real-time processing solutions and ensuring seamless hardware/software interoperability across sensors

Cross-disciplinary system design & integration:

• conducting trade studies, requirements analysis, and system performance assessments across multiple disciplines
• collaboration with engineering teams to design and optimize integrated systems across hardware, software, RF, imaging, and sensor domains
• troubleshooting of complex, system-wide technical challenges to improve performance and reliability
• development of test plans, execution of validation strategies, and support for system-level integration testing
• leadership and mentorship of junior engineers, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment

Вимоги

• bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong background in UAV systems
• broad technical expertise across systems integration, including imaging, RF communication, antenna tracking, sensor fusion, and embedded software
• experience in designing and optimizing low-latency video streaming systems and AI-driven image processing pipelines
• strong background in RF signal processing and secure data transmission in UAV systems
• proficiency in sensor integration and real-time data processing, especially for systems involving IMU, LiDAR, GNSS, and EO/IR sensors
• familiarity with embedded software development for telemetry and control systems
• expertise in systems modeling, simulation, and trade-off analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
• strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on interdisciplinary technical challenges
• excellent communication and teamwork skills
• experience with UAV systems, particularly in defense, aerospace, or high-tech industries nice to have
• familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama) nice to have
• experience in AI/ML techniques applied to image processing and sensor fusion nice to have
• proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or similar for system analysis and design nice to have
• knowledge of industry standards and best practices in systems engineering and embedded systems nice to have
