The company is looking for a highly capable and proactive Technical Writer (UAV Systems & Hardware) to join a growing UAV startup supporting Ukraine’s national needs with advanced drone technology. In this role, you will develop clear, precise, and professional documentation for UAV platforms, mission-critical components, and customer-facing materials. Your work will ensure that complex engineering outputs are translated into accessible and accurate documentation for internal teams, operators, partners, and procurement bodies. You will work closely with engineering, product, compliance, and manufacturing teams to capture technical knowledge, structure it effectively, and maintain consistency across all documentation. This role is pivotal in improving product clarity, accelerating customer onboarding, and strengthening operational and export-control readiness as the company scales.

• production of high-quality technical documentation including product manuals, assembly instructions, operator guides, maintenance procedures, and system specifications
• collaboration with engineering, product, and compliance teams to gather information, validate accuracy, and maintain version control across documentation
• translation of complex mechanical, electrical, software, and UAV-specific concepts into clear, concise written materials for both expert and non-expert audiences
• development of templates, documentation standards, and style guides to ensure consistency across all internal and external materials
• support for pre-contracting activities through preparation of technical inputs for RFIs, RFPs, compliance statements, and export-control documentation
• maintenance of an organized documentation repository and coordination with teams to ensure timely updates as designs evolve
• assistance in preparing user training materials, diagrams, and visual aids to communicate system functionalities and operational workflows
• ownership of the end-to-end technical documentation function as the company scales

Вимоги

• bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience producing technical documentation for hardware, aerospace, robotics, defense, or related engineering environments
• proven ability to translate engineering concepts into clear, structured documentation
• experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and managing multiple documentation workflows simultaneously
• proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, Adobe Acrobat, or similar platforms
• advanced English
• strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced startup setting
• experience in UAV, aerospace, defense, or dual-use hardware environments will be an advantage
• familiarity with ITAR/export control requirements and compliance-related documentation will be an advantage
• ability to create diagrams, schematics, or technical illustrations will be an advantage
• experience writing for operators or field personnel in high-stakes environments will be an advantage
