Employer is an international defense tech company seeking a Test Flight Technician to conduct test flights for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) systems. This role is critical in verifying the performance, stability, and safety of UAV systems during flight tests. The Test Flight Technician will collaborate closely with engineers to diagnose flight issues, optimize flight parameters, and validate hardware/software integrations. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the testing and optimization of advanced UAV technologies.

Test flights & performance validation:

• conducting test flights for UAV systems, ensuring performance meets predefined specifications and requirements
• monitoring and assessing flight stability, control, and safety throughout the flight
• recording and analyzing flight data to verify system performance and identify potential areas for improvement

Troubleshooting & issue diagnosis:

• collaborating with engineers to diagnose issues and inconsistencies during flight tests
• troubleshooting and documenting technical problems observed during test flights, including system malfunctions, sensor anomalies, and communication issues
• providing detailed reports on flight performance, highlighting areas for optimization or modification

Flight parameter optimization:

• working with engineers to optimize flight parameters, including control settings, flight paths, and system configurations
• assisting in the calibration of UAV components and sensors to enhance flight stability and accuracy

Hardware/software integration testing:

• supporting the validation of hardware and software integrations during flights
• ensuring effective collaboration between hardware, software, and flight control systems

Safety & compliance:

• adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements during all flight operations
• conducting flight operations in a safe and controlled environment
• performing pre-flight inspections, maintenance checks, and troubleshooting procedures to maintain equipment readiness

Вимоги

• bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in UAV flight testing, aviation, or related technical roles
• strong understanding of UAV systems and components, including flight control, sensors, and communication systems
• experience in operating UAVs and conducting flight tests with a focus on performance verification and troubleshooting
• ability to analyze flight data and identify discrepancies or performance issues
• hands-on experience with UAV pre-flight preparation, calibration, and safety checks
• effective communication skills for collaboration with engineers and technical teams
• ability to remain calm and methodical under pressure during test flight operations
• experience with a variety of UAV platforms and flight control systems, nice to have
• familiarity with UAV flight planning and mission execution tools nice to have
• knowledge of flight control software and diagnostic tools nice to have
• experience in resolving hardware/software integration issues during flight testing nice to have
• understanding of regulatory requirements and safety protocols for UAV operations, nice to have
• ability to adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment nice to have
