Chemonics is an international development consulting firm founded in 1975 that implements International Technical Assistance Projects. The vacancy involves work in the USAID Agriculture Growing Rural Opportunities in Ukraine (AGRO).

Обов'язки

• written translation of program and administrative documents and other project materials related to AGRO activities and administration of the project
• maintain a register of written translation requests and their fulfillment
• interpretation during project-related meetings, workshops, trainings, and the other events
• contribution to the AGRO Translators’ Knowledge Base specific terminology in English and Ukrainian to use in AGRO documents
• participation in project staff and experts’ travels within Ukraine, when needed, to provide interpretation and translation services
• use Microsoft Teams as needed to carry out tasks and collaborate with other activity staff
• participate as directed in collection and analysis of Monitoring and Evaluation (MEL) data
• prepare sections of reports, plans, success stories and similar documents as requested
• participate in regular activity Collaboration, Learning and Adapting (CLA) discussions
• comply with Chemonics’ standards of business conduct
• perform other appropriate tasks as requested

Вимоги

• appropriate academic credentials, such as a BA at least degree or equivalent in translation
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• proven success fulfilling job tasks and responsibilities similar to those outlined above
• demonstrated success working in a multinational, multilingual team under pressure and tight deadlines
• fluent written and spoken English and Ukrainian
• ability to provide high-quality simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
• editing skills sufficient to produce a finished, polished translation that a speaker of the target language can read with ease and full comprehension
• demonstrated initiative and self-motivation in handling all tasks
• computer skills adequate to correctly produce and format documents, including familiarity with standard MS Office software
• available for travel (including overnight stays for up to several days) in Ukraine or abroad as required

Умови

• work in Kyiv
• 1-year fixed-term employment agreement with possible extension each work year up to the end of the AGRO implementation (November 14, 2024, with potential extension through November 14, 2026)
• periodic travel to other parts of Ukraine might be required
