Theseus is an American technology company building robotic situational awareness at the edge, starting with visual positioning on drones. The company develops software that helps platforms operate when GPS is jammed, spoofed, or unavailable. Its technology is designed for contested environments, low-cost hardware, challenging deployment conditions, and rapid scaling.

Theseus is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to deploy and integrate its technology with customers in Ukraine. The engineers will work with drone OEMs, military units, and other operational partners to integrate the company’s software into drone platforms.

The role sits at the intersection of software, systems integration, flight testing, and field operations. It involves managing integrations from initial bring-up through successful deployment and sustained field performance.

This is a hands-on role that requires writing and debugging code, working directly with drone hardware, supporting flight testing and deployments, and solving problems alongside customers and operators. The successful candidate will be comfortable debugging integrations, working with OEM engineering teams, supporting operators in the field, and adapting systems based on deployment experience.

• end-to-end management of deployments from initial OEM integration and flight testing through operator handoff and sustained field performance
• integration of Theseus software with drone platforms and OEM engineering systems
• work with autopilots, onboard computing systems, sensors, networking, telemetry, and operator interfaces
• collection of operational requirements from military units and operators
• support for deployments and troubleshooting in operational environments
• adaptation of systems to battlefield constraints
• development and modification of Python code for integrations, tooling, debugging, testing, and deployment workflows
• integration of software into drone platforms, particularly ArduPilot-based systems
• setup, testing, and troubleshooting of systems spanning autopilots, companion computers, sensors, networks, telemetry links, and ground or operator interfaces
• flight testing and field validation
• rapid diagnosis of failures and improvement of operational reliability
• training of OEM partners, operators, and military units in integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and field practices
• transformation of field feedback into engineering priorities, product improvements, and repeatable integration and deployment processes
• communication of field insights and customer needs to the broader engineering team

• hands-on experience with ArduPilot and drone integration
• strong programming skills in Python or C++
• ability to develop tools, debug production systems, and work across software and hardware
• experience managing complex technical integrations from initial bring-up through deployment
• systems-level debugging skills across software, computing systems, sensors, networking, telemetry, and hardware interfaces
• ability to diagnose problems quickly and independently deliver working solutions under real-world constraints
• ability to work with drone OEM engineering teams, military units, operators, and other external partners
• communication skills and ability to translate operational requirements and field feedback into clear engineering priorities
• ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment with changing requirements, priorities, and constraints
• fluency in English

Nice to have

• experience with MAVLink, companion computers, onboard Linux systems, telemetry links, and field networking
• experience integrating software into drones, robots, or other edge hardware platforms
• experience working with drone OEMs and moving integrations from prototypes to production or operational deployment
• experience working with military units or operators and adapting systems to mission-specific workflows and constraints
• experience with PX4, mission-planning software, telemetry systems, or operator-facing tools
• experience conducting flight tests and diagnosing hardware or software issues using flight logs and telemetry
• experience in defense, dual-use technology, robotics, autonomy, or other high-reliability field environments
• fluency in Ukrainian
