Serpens Center for International Security (SCIS) is an independent Ukrainian think tank focused on defense and security issues. Its mission is to strengthen the approaches of Ukraine and its allies to shaping, building, and sustaining their own defense capabilities, as well as to promote the creation of new security alliances required by the 21st century. Operating throughout Ukraine, SCIS conducts research, implements programs, and builds partnerships that transform Ukraine's hard-won defense experience into shared and sustainable Western security.

Обов'язки

• monitor and analyze open sources, including Telegram channels, social media, satellite imagery, procurement data, and manufacturer announcements, on the development and combat use of defense technologies, including UAS, electronic warfare, counter-drone systems, unmanned ground vehicles, and strike systems
• verify and geolocate photo and video materials and assess source reliability
• track adaptation and counter-adaptation cycles between Ukrainian and Russian technologies on the battlefield
• build and maintain datasets on systems, manufacturers, and documented combat use
• engage with military units, manufacturers, and innovation programs to check findings against feedback from the front lines
• prepare analytical briefs and rapid assessments and contribute to the Center's publications
• follow OPSEC principles and ensure that no published material endangers personnel or operations

Вимоги

• demonstrated OSINT experience, including geolocation, verification, and source work
• familiarity with modern defense technologies and their battlefield application
• attention to detail and sourcing discipline, including the ability to clearly distinguish between what is established, what is likely, and what is unknown

Will be an advantage

• military service experience or veteran status, particularly in UAS, EW, reconnaissance, or signals units
• experience in the defense industry or with military innovation programs
• skills with GIS tools, including QGIS and Google Earth Pro, and satellite imagery analysis
• knowledge of data analysis tools, including Python and SQL, for working with large open-source datasets
• published OSINT investigations or analytical work
• excellent command of Ukrainian and English, both written and spoken, and the ability to work with Russian-language sources
